The slide and film version was the original eight hour drama. A Eureka drama was slindes only and the slides were not hand colored. There were separte expanded or altered Drama versions for Poland and Germany in the post World War 1 period.

Photodrama of Creation: two versions?
by ILoveTTATT init seems to me like there are two versions of the photodrama of creation: the one where it is just slides, and the one where there are the slides, plus songs, plus short movies such as noah sending the dove out of the ark.... does anyone know where i can find the one that has the film parts?
i am wanting to see the part of the time-lapse.... .

At a "zone assembly" in Portland, Oregon in 1948. Baptized in the Sandy River. First Convention was United Announcers in 1944. They've been naming them at least that long.

Ray Franz blamed for 1975 false prophecy
by EndofMysteries ini was raised a jw and as a kid my family made brief mention of apostates in bethel that falsely prophecied about 1975 and were kicked out of bethel.
i was shocked after i got out and learned that him being removed had absolutely nothing to do with 1975. i think that partial lie spread is what kept my relatives in.
1975 a big let down/false prophecy, then they are told that a governing body member and many in bethel are found apostate and cleaned out, etc.

I did not like Ray Franz. The reasons are personal. But, he is the only one of the Governing Body to have apolgized immediately after the event. For that, I had huge respect for him. I wish I still had the tape. He spoke to a large gathering in the Pacific Northwest in 1977 as I recall.

Fred Franz was the responsible party. Witnesses would be better off today if he'd been disfellowshipped for apostacy.

There was no video. It was a slide show with short bits of silent film. The text of the syncronized recordings is in the Photo Drama book. The slide show is found on youtube. The book has been reprinted. Originals show up on ebay.

Has anyone else observed how the elderly JWs are neglected?
by Joepublisher1 ini know there are exceptions to this (by good-hearted jws), but has anyone else noticed how some jws (even those who are pios, elders, etc.
) neglect the needs of their elderly parents?
(what i have seen is some jws hiding behind the fact that they are very busy in spiritual matters, too busy, to help their elderly parents with chores around their house, yet they find plenty of time for their own selfish pursuits.

Being elderly and still being considered a witness, I experience this first hand. My wife who is slightly older than I am attends regularly. She's infirm, as am I. Other than doctrinal nonsense, abuse and neglect of fellow witnesses is one of my "hot-button" issues. As the elders age and few young ones take there place, this issue will grow.

The temples all had stone floors in the courtyard. They would be "checkered" by default. There is no rational thought behind this claim.
The uiniversity where I teach has checkered floors in the cafeteria and in the commons. I'm betting that the bad food is a masonic conspiracy.

What is the stand/view of the JWs regarding the Illuminati and conspiracy theory?
by UBM101 ini mean.... are the dubs pretty much supporters of the conspiracy theory (watching videos, researching etc) or do they avoid such materials/topics?

The Watchtower replaces "HUMAN" conspiracy theories with the belief that Satan is the prince of the power of the air and all human governments are controled by demons. But some Witnesses, already being fruitcakes, buy into all the other conspiracy theories too.
